Writer’s Program
Grades K-2
In this session, children learn how an idea can grow from a real life experience, and how these ideas can then become writing pieces. This presentation also includes a reading from Spaghetti In A Hot Dog Bun, Singing the song “I Like Me” with my puppet Lucy and the Pledge to Be Me.
Writer's Program
Grades 3-5
Calling young authors! In this session, I discuss story elements and how we use them to create an out of this world writing piece! Using writing traits, comprehension strategies such as inferring, along with story structure, this interactive session will inspire children to write in a number of ways!
Publisher's Program
Grades k-5
In this session, children learn about the process of publishing a book. Beginning with an idea and taking it all the way to the shelves at a bookstore. Children will be participating in this session which has a major focus on bullying, the theme of Maria’s book Spaghetti In A Hot Dog Bun.
Empower Me
Grades k-2
This program introduces children to strategies they can use when faced with teasing and bullying. Through role playing and humor, the lessons learned in this session are sure to stick with children!
Stand Up
Grades 3-5
Children are faced with teasing in different shapes and forms these days. Recognizing what bullying can look like and steps to take once it is happening is the focus of this program.
Finding the Joy in Writing
Middle School Program
This session will focus on engaging and exciting students about meaningful writing activities. Researchers report that students tend to put more effort into their writing if they take pride and ownership in their individuality. Sharing her journey in becoming a published author, Maria will work to foster confidence in students as writers. Participants will learn more about leads, plot, and character development in this program.
Bullying Stops Here
Middle School Program
Awareness must be brought to teens about bullying and what to do. Maria teaches the types of bullying with a special emphasis on cyber bullying.

The new trend in author visits!
Virtual visits are the new trend in school assemblies. While it’s not as fun as having me visit you in person, it can be a lot more feasible financially for schools located outside of Michigan. I present to students grades K-5 program on being an author and bullying.
